Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Pittsburgh area.
The Allegheny terrain alone insures that Pittsburgh is never dull. A few of the downtown streets have dramatic and impossible grades, but the layout of Pittsburgh, which would be daunting just about anywhere else, is actually fun to negotiate, maybe because the residents here, who seem somehow more friendly and confident here than anywhere else, look at it that way themselves. Pittsburgh is the largest inland port in the country, where the Ohio, Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet at Point State Park, across from Three Rivers Stadium, right downtown. Consequently, the level of cultural sophistication and commercial variety rival that of larger Atlantic seabord towns. Yet, Pittsburg also is a short drive from the more rural towns of Ohio, West Virginia and southern Pennsylvania, where a vital part of original American culture still farms, mines and speaks with an accent unique to this area, as they have for generations. No matter how many times you visit, or how long you stay, you will never tire of the beauty and variety of Pittsburgh.
